Defending Our Christian Faith
All of us who heard Ken Ham's message in "Already Gone" on June 27 were alarmed by the statistic that two-thirds of the young poeple sitting in the pews of our conservative churches have already left in their hearts, and soon they will be gone for good. Of the many reasons he stated, the main one seemed to center around the fact that we have not taught our young people (and adults) a biblical worldview founded on the first eleven chapters of Genesis, which is the "foundational building block" for the rest of the Bible.
Thankfully he gave us some solutions to counter this dangerous trend. It starts with establishing God's Word as trustworthy and the absolute authority. We should also teach our young people Biblical apologetics and how to defend their Christian faith (I Peter 3:15).
Convicted by the truth of his message, we decided to act upon his challenge to reclaim the next generation for Christ. Beginning in mid-July, we started viewing a "creation" series produced by Answers in Genesis. This series is currently being viewed on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. and will continue through August. There is a separate series dealing with the same themes for the children.
I strongly encourage you and your family to avail yourselves of this excellent series to better equip yourselves to stand on, and defend, your christian faith.
